SCE M68-2000 2-Axis Motion Controller for CNC and Servo Systems

The SCE M68-2000 is a dedicated motion control module combining PLC logic with dual-axis CNC capability. Designed for milling, routing, and pick-and-place machinery, this controller executes coordinated moves using linear and circular interpolation. With embedded I/O and high-speed pulse outputs, it replaces complex PLC+standalone motion solutions.

Motion Specifications

Two independent axes with maximum output pulse frequency of 4MHz per axis. Position range ±8,388,607 counts (23-bit). Encoder feedback up to 2MHz for closed-loop servo control. The M68-2000 supports trapezoidal and S-curve acceleration profiles, electronic gearing, and camming. G-code parser handles M, G, T codes from RS-232 or Ethernet.


PLC and Logic Capabilities

Built-in ladder logic interpreter with 2000 program steps. 16 digital inputs (24V DC, 5mA) and 12 digital outputs (transistor, 0.5A). Two analog inputs (0-10V) for joystick or pressure feedback. The PLC section can manage auxiliary functions such as coolant pump or tool changer while motion executes in background.

Communication and Programming

Ports: RS-232 for programming and CNC file upload, Ethernet TCP/IP for SCADA integration, and USB device for offline backup. Proprietary M68 Studio software allows ladder design, motion parameter tuning, and real-time oscilloscope view. The controller also supports Modbus RTU Master to interact with VFDs and sensors.

Hardware Design

Metal housing for noise immunity, panel or DIN rail mount. Power supply 24V DC ±10%, consuming 250mA plus load. Operating temperature -10°C to 60°C. Terminals are removable pluggable type. Status LEDs indicate axis activity, alarm, and system run. Optional battery backup for retained position data.

Applications

Ideal for small CNC routers, XY tables, coil winding machines, soldering robots, and automated test equipment. The dual-axis architecture simplifies gantry systems where master-slave following is required. Integrated homing routines with limit switch handling reduce development time.

Safety and Certification

CE and FCC Class A certified. Emergency stop input immediately disables pulse outputs. Watchdog timer monitors execution integrity; upon fault, all outputs go to safe state. The M68-2000 complies with EN 61131-2 for industrial control equipment.
