The Vibro-meter VM600 CMC16 is a 16-slot rack chassis that serves as the foundation for the VM600 machinery protection and condition monitoring system. Designed for continuous operation in critical rotating machinery applications, this rack provides the structural and electrical infrastructure for monitoring vibration, position, temperature, and other parameters on turbines, compressors, generators, and pumps.
The CMC16 is available in multiple configurations to suit different application requirements. Model 200-530-025-014 represents a fully populated rack configuration with specific power supply and backplane options. Model 200-530-111-013 offers an alternative configuration optimized for different installation environments. Both configurations maintain the same mechanical dimensions and slot capacity, ensuring compatibility with the full range of VM600 measurement cards and system components.
The rack accommodates up to 16 standard VM600 measurement cards plus one dedicated system slot for the ABE series controller card. The passive backplane design provides power distribution and communication pathways between cards, supporting both analog and digital signal routing. The chassis is engineered for 19-inch rack mounting, conforming to EIA standard dimensions for integration into control room cabinets. Front-accessible card guides with extraction handles facilitate easy module insertion and removal for maintenance or reconfiguration.

The CMC16 rack is designed to accept redundant power supply modules for continuous operation in mission-critical applications. Power supplies are installed in dedicated slots at the left side of the rack and operate in load-sharing configuration. If one power supply fails, the remaining unit sustains full system operation without interruption. Power supplies are hot-swappable, allowing replacement without system shutdown. Input voltage acceptance ranges from 18 to 36 V DC, with galvanic isolation between input and output stages.
Constructed from electro-galvanized steel, the CMC16 chassis provides mechanical rigidity and electromagnetic compatibility for reliable operation in industrial environments. The rack includes mounting flanges for standard 19-inch cabinet installation. Ventilation is provided through side and rear openings, designed for forced-air cooling in typical control room installations. The chassis supports operation in ambient temperatures up to 60°C, suitable for deployment in non-air-conditioned environments.
