The Vibro-meter VM600 RPS6U is a high-reliability power supply module designed for the VM600 machinery protection system. Installed in CMC16 racks, this module provides regulated DC power to all system components, with redundant configuration capability to ensure continuous operation in critical monitoring applications.
The RPS6U accepts a wide input voltage range of 18 to 36 V DC, making it compatible with standard 24 V DC industrial power systems. The module provides galvanic isolation between input and output stages, protecting sensitive measurement circuits from power line disturbances. Output regulation maintains voltage stability within 1 percent under varying load conditions, ensuring consistent performance of measurement cards and system controllers.
When two RPS6U modules are installed in a CMC16 rack, they operate in load-sharing configuration. Each module supplies approximately half of the total system load under normal conditions. In the event of a single power supply failure, the remaining module automatically takes over the full load, maintaining system operation without interruption. The load-sharing architecture also reduces thermal stress on individual modules, extending operational life. Power supply status is monitored by the system controller and can be reported to external monitoring systems.

The RPS6U is designed for front-access installation in CMC16 racks, occupying dedicated power supply slots at the left side of the chassis. The module features a locking handle for secure insertion and extraction. In redundant configurations, individual power supplies can be replaced without system shutdown, allowing maintenance to be performed without interrupting machinery protection functions. Status LEDs on the front panel provide visual indication of input power presence, output voltage status, and fault conditions.
The RPS6U incorporates comprehensive protection circuitry to safeguard both the power supply and connected equipment. Overvoltage protection prevents output voltage from exceeding safe limits under fault conditions. Overcurrent protection limits output current during short-circuit events, with automatic recovery upon fault clearance. Overtemperature protection reduces output power or shuts down the module if internal temperatures exceed safe operating limits.
