The Vibro-meter VMF IOCN is an advanced network-enabled input/output module for the VMF series condition monitoring system. This module combines high-precision signal acquisition with embedded communication capabilities, enabling distributed monitoring architectures where remote I/O nodes communicate directly with central monitoring systems.
The IOCN is offered in multiple configurations to support various network architectures. Model 200-566-101-013 provides enhanced network connectivity with redundant communication paths for critical applications. Model 200-566-000-112 offers standard network connectivity suitable for general distributed monitoring installations. Both versions maintain the same physical footprint for consistent rack integration.
Integrated Ethernet connectivity supports 10/100Base-T operation with standard TCP/IP protocols. The module can operate as a standalone network node, transmitting processed measurement data directly to central monitoring systems without requiring a separate rack controller. Support for Modbus TCP and OPC UA protocols enables seamless integration with plant-wide control systems and supervisory software. In larger installations, multiple IOCN modules can communicate with a central VMF system controller over the network backbone.
Network Interface: 10/100Base-T Ethernet
Protocols: Modbus TCP, OPC UA, proprietary VMF protocol
I/O Channels: 8 configurable analog inputs, 4 digital I/O
Input Types: Voltage, current, IEPE, proximity probe
Resolution: 24-bit ADC
Sampling Rate: Up to 25 kHz per channel
Time Synchronization: IEEE 1588 PTP and NTP support
Power Supply: 24 V DC from rack or external source

The IOCN can operate in standalone mode for distributed monitoring applications, storing configuration parameters locally and executing predefined measurement tasks without continuous supervision. When configured for standalone operation, the module performs periodic data acquisition, processes measurements according to programmed algorithms, and transmits results to central monitoring systems on scheduled intervals or when alarm conditions are detected.
The module incorporates security features including configurable access controls and encrypted communication options for network deployments. Comprehensive diagnostic functions monitor network connectivity, data integrity, and module health, with status reporting available through both front panel indicators and network interfaces. Hot-swap capability allows module replacement without system interruption in redundant network configurations.
