Common troubleshooting cases
8.1 System cannot start, power indicator light does not light up
Check if the DC terminal is securely plugged in, and use a multimeter to measure if the voltage between V+and V - is within the range of 6-36V.
If the voltage is normal, unplug all external loads (USB, serial port cables) and try again to eliminate external short circuits.
If there is still no response, it is possible that the internal insurance or power management chip is damaged and needs to be repaired.
8.2 Serial communication garbled or data lost
Check if the baud rate, data bits, stop bits, and checksum are consistent with the device.
For RS-485, check if the terminal resistance matches (120 Ω at both ends) and ensure that there are no extra nodes on the bus.
If using software to switch modes, confirm that the driver has been installed correctly and that the mode is retained after system restart (some need to be fixed in the BIOS).
8.3 One of the three network ports cannot be recognized
Enter BIOS to check if the port is disabled (in some configurations, unused ports may be disabled to reduce power consumption).
Update the network card driver to the latest version and check if the device manager displays the device with a yellow exclamation mark (possibly IRQ conflict, try replacing the PCIe slot? However, this machine is onboard and cannot change slots. ACPI settings can be adjusted in BIOS).
8.4 Frequent restarts of the system after starting at low temperatures (<0 ℃)
The reason may be insufficient low-temperature performance of the storage device, using ordinary HDD or commercial SSD.
Solution: Replace with industrial grade SLC SSD or CF card and ensure that fast boot is enabled in the BIOS (reducing initialization time).
Maintenance and long-term operation suggestions
Regular dust removal: Fanless industrial control computers rely on the shell for heat dissipation, and dust accumulation can seriously reduce the heat dissipation efficiency. It is recommended to use compressed air to blow the heat dissipation fins every six months (be careful to prevent liquid from entering the interface).
Check the battery: The motherboard CR2032 battery maintains RTC and CMOS, with a lifespan of about 5 years. If there is a time reset or BIOS settings loss, replace it in a timely manner.
Firmware upgrade: ADLINK may release BIOS updates to fix compatibility issues or add features. Backup the current configuration before upgrading and reset it after upgrading.
Log monitoring: Use WDT and SEMA to record the number of system restarts and temperature history, and predict potential faults (such as voltage fluctuations caused by power aging).
