ABB DO02 digital output module

The DO02 digital output module provides up to 16, CH-2-CH isolated transistor type, 24 to 48 VDC output signals. The opencollector outputs of the module are capable of sinking or sourcing up to 250 mADC.

The DO02 module features also include short-circuit detection, status indication and overcurrent protection.

FC 221 (I/O Device Definition) sets DO module operating parameters and each output channel is configured using FC 225 (Digital Output CH) to set indivdual output channel parameters such as alarm state setting, default state on loss of communication with controller, etc.


Core functions and features

(1) Core functions

Multi channel output capability: including 16 channels, adopting CH-2-CH (inter channel) independent isolation design, supporting 24-48 VDC transistor type digital output, output type is open collector electrode, single channel can be filled with current or pulled to 250 mADC, suitable for mainstream industrial actuators such as relays and solenoid valves.

Safety and protection mechanism: Integrated short circuit detection and overcurrent protection functions, capable of real-time monitoring of output abnormalities and triggering protection; Equipped with 1500 V (1 minute) galvanic (electrical isolation) to avoid inter channel interference and ground faults, enhancing system safety.

Status monitoring and diagnosis: The module is equipped with a STATUS indicator light (R running light, F fault light) and 1-16 independent indicator lights on the front, providing intuitive feedback on the overall status of the module and the output status of a single channel; Support local diagnosis (front mini USB interface) and remote diagnosis (via SPE protocol of HN800 device) for easy fault location.

Flexible configuration: Set module operating parameters through FC 221 (I/O device definition), customize single channel parameters (such as alarm status, default output status when controller communication is interrupted) through FC 225 (digital output channel configuration), and adapt to different control requirements.

High reliability: MTBF (mean time between failures) reaches 131490 hours (according to MIL-HDBK-217-FN2 standard), MTTR (mean time to repair) is only 1 hour, reducing the risk of downtime;

Wide environmental adaptability: Supports working temperatures of -40~70 ℃ and storage temperatures of -40~85 ℃, can withstand harsh industrial environments such as vibration, impact, and high humidity, and is suitable for harsh scenarios such as power generation and chemical industry;

Long distance cabling: The maximum length of on-site cables can reach 600 meters (1968 feet), meeting the cross regional cabling needs of large factories.
