2.3 Application Suggestions

At key measuring points such as steam pipelines, reactor pressure, and filter differential pressure, it is recommended to use SmartLine pressure transmitters and enable their enhanced diagnostic functions (such as pressure spike detection and statistical process monitoring) to provide early warning of abnormalities such as valve leakage or pump cavitation.

Temperature transmitter: the new standard with the lowest cost of ownership

SmartLine temperature transmitters provide high accuracy and stability over a wide range of process and ambient temperatures, making them particularly suitable for industrial environments with severe noise.

Difference/Average Calculation

Redundant measurement (automatic switching in case of main sensor failure)

Digital output options: Directly output digital signals such as HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, etc. without the need for separate switches.

More reliable measurement: Anti EMI/RFI design, allowing sensor leads to be up to several hundred meters long.

3.2 Typical Application Scenarios

Reactor multi-point temperature monitoring: One SmartLine temperature transmitter is connected to two thermocouples to reduce hardware costs.

High temperature kiln: using thermocouple input model, no additional converter required.

Cleanroom: Digital output directly connected to DCS, reducing the demand for analog cards.


Multi variable transmitter: One device achieves three types of measurements

SmartLine multivariable transmitter is a 3-in-1 intelligent instrument that can measure differential pressure (DP), static pressure (SP), and process temperature (T) through a single device, and has built-in flow calculation function.

4.1 Core Functions

Minimum process intrusion: Only one pressure point and one temperature sensor are required.

Provide two flow algorithms, standard and dynamic compensation, to automatically calculate mass flow rate, standard volume flow rate, or energy flow rate.

Capable of fault safe flow measurement: Even if the sensor partially fails, it can still output a reasonable flow value.

Excellent noise resistance, suitable for high-frequency pulsation conditions such as pump outlet and compressor surge control.

4.2 Economic benefits

Eliminate the need for one independent pressure, differential pressure, and temperature transmitter, and reduce the installation of flanges, pressure pipes, needle valves, and cables.

Use thermocouple input directly for high-temperature applications without the need for additional transmitters.

Easy configuration through Device Type Manager (DTM) or EDD without the need for specialized tools.

4.3 Supporting Remote Header

When the installation position of the transmitter is difficult to observe, the SmartLine RMA 800 remote header component can be used to display process values at a distance from the instrument. This header is compatible with all 4-20mA loop devices (including non Honeywell products) and supports digital protocols.


Liquid level transmitter: perfect combination of guided wave radar and non-contact radar

The SmartLine liquid level transmitter family includes two technical routes: guided wave radar and 80GHz non-contact radar, covering liquid level, boundary level, and solid material level measurements from simple storage tanks to complex reactors.

5.1 SLN700 non-contact radar transmitter

The working frequency is 80GHz, the beam angle is only 3 °~5 °, and it is not sensitive to obstacles inside the container.

Dynamic false echo suppression algorithm: automatically learns the echo curve of empty tanks, shields interference signals such as agitators and heating coils.

Blockage distance optimization: can be used for small storage tanks to measure distances very close to the top of the tank.

Enhanced firmware: equipped with advanced algorithms for automatic amplitude tracking, maintaining stable measurements during dynamic filling/unloading processes.

Measurement under dynamic process conditions can be completed without offline parking.
