The thread length of metal cable joints shall not exceed 9mm, otherwise it may touch the internal circuit board.
NPT threads require the use of an accompanying adapter and the wrapping of sealing tape (raw material tape) to prevent leakage.
Do not use metal hoses to directly connect 1/2-14NPT ports to avoid damaging the adapter.

6.4 Example of the highest security level
Omron official example: Combining D4SL-N □ A □ (mechanical lock type)+D4N/D4F/D4B-N limit switches+G9SE-201 safety relay unit can achieve PL e/4 category (ISO 13849-1), stop category 0, and manual reset. The evaluation results of this combination can serve as a reference for user system design.
Operation timing and safety logic
7.1 Mechanical lock type (default power-off lock)
When the door is opened: the operation key is not inserted, the door monitoring contact is activated (NC disconnected), and the lock monitoring contact is in the "unlocked" state.
Closing the door: The key is inserted and the door monitoring contacts switch (NC closed), but the lock tongue is still pushed out by the spring and the key cannot be removed.
Unlock: Supply power to the electromagnetic coil for about 10ms to 10 seconds (starting current stage), the electromagnetic coil will engage, the lock tongue will retract, and the key will be allowed to be removed. Attention: After the coil power supply exceeds 10 seconds, it will automatically switch to constant current holding mode. At this time, the lock tongue may not be able to maintain suction, so it is not suitable for long-term power-off door opening scenarios.
7.2 Electromagnetic lock type (power off automatic unlocking) - critical warning
Correct sequence: Close door → Fully insert key → Power supply to electromagnetic coil → Lock tongue extends to lock key
Wrong sequence: First supply power to the coil → then close the door → the key cannot be stuck by the lock tongue, and the door can be opened at any time, completely losing its safety function! This is the most easily overlooked error in on-site debugging.
The electromagnetic lock type automatically unlocks after the power supply is stopped, so it must not be used for moving parts that are still dangerous after a power outage (such as flywheels for inertial sliding and gravity drop mechanisms). Additional mechanical retaining devices or pneumatic brakes must be used.
7.3 Use of key release
The mechanical lock type body has a release keyhole (linear knob) that can be manually unlocked in emergency situations or power outages.
When leaving the factory, D4SL-N □□ A is in the "UNLOCK" position, and D4SL-N □□ G is in the "LOCK" position.
The operating torque shall not exceed 0.2 N · m. After unlocking, restore to the LOCK position and seal with lead to prevent unauthorized use.
Do not turn the release key when the electromagnetic lock is in the power on lock state, otherwise the internal gears may be damaged.

Anti Trapping Principle and Application of Sliding Key
Traditional safety door switches pose a fatal risk: when personnel enter a hazardous area, external personnel may accidentally close and lock the door, causing internal personnel to be trapped and unable to open the door from the inside. D4SL-NSK10-LK solves this problem through the "lock key" mechanism:
Before entering: The operator inserts the locking key into the sliding handle and rotates it to the "SLIDE LOCK" position, then removes the key and carries it with them.
At this point, the sliding handle is mechanically locked and cannot slide backwards, so the operating key cannot be removed from the keyhole on the switch head - the door cannot be closed.
When leaving: The operator must re insert the locking key from the inside and turn it back to the "FREE" position, slide the handle to resume movement, and then close the door and lock it.
This kit is different from the traditional "trapped key" system: the trap key requires the key to be inserted into the door switch before closing the door, while the D4SL-NSK10-LK can lock the sliding mechanism when the door is not closed. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages, but the sliding key has lower cost and is suitable for lightweight door renovation.
Attention: It is forbidden to install the sliding key vertically (with the sliding handle moving up and down), as it may cause the internal slider to accidentally slide due to gravity, resulting in the inability to close the door.
