The ABB 1SVR730885R4300 is a CM-MPS.23S three-phase monitoring relay, designed to ensure the reliable operation of three-phase systems in various applications.

Functions

Phase Unbalance Monitoring: It can detect unbalanced loads in three-phase systems. When the three-phase supply is unbalanced, the motor may convert some energy into reactive power, resulting in energy loss and increased thermal stress on the motor. Other thermal protection devices may fail to detect such continuous unbalances, but this relay can do so reliably.

Phase Sequence Detection: It monitors the phase sequence. A change in phase sequence during operation or an incorrect phase sequence before startup can cause the connected device to rotate in the wrong direction. For some equipment like construction machinery, it is of great significance to detect the phase sequence before startup.

Phase Loss Detection: As soon as the voltage of one phase drops below 60% of its nominal value, the relay can promptly detect the phase loss, thus preventing the occurrence of undefined states in the installation, such as interference with the motor startup process.

Voltage Monitoring: It continuously monitors the voltage. All electrical devices are at risk of damage when operated in a network with out-of-range voltages. The relay can identify overvoltage and undervoltage conditions, ensuring the safe operation of equipment.

Extended Functionality: It has selectable phase sequence monitoring that can be turned off via a rotary switch or dip switch, suitable for applications where phase sequence is not critical, such as motors with forward and reverse rotation or heating applications. It also features automatic phase sequence correction, which guarantees the correct phase sequence is applied to the input terminals of the load for non-fixed or portable equipment.
