GE VMIVME-2528 Digital input/output board

The GE VMIVME-2528 is a digital input and output board manufactured by General Electric. This device is part of the VMIC device array and has a number of different functions, including an analog to digital converter board, a central processor unit board, and various input and output boards.

The VMIVME-2528 unit is a 128-bit model of the TLL digital input and output board with a VMEbus attachment integrated with a set of specifications compatible with the double-height form factor. Other components included in this model include an input and output connection module of type 64-pin DIN 41612. The unit integrates a set of 16 input and output ports, each 8 bits wide, that can be addressed to any address located within a short monitor or unprivileged short input/output map.

The VMIVME-2528 unit also features a series of independent port direction control jumpers for 16 individually addressable ports and an output current absorption capacity of up to 24 mA. The unit can handle data transfers divided into 8-bit and 16-bit transfers, and is equipped with an array of 12 DIP switches to provide unlimited options for short data input/output address mapping.

In addition, the VMIVME-2528 uses a fully integrated mixed-signal system-level chip that controls every control loop on the main control board panel via a knob switch on the front panel of the controller.
