• Parameter view: Open and edit the full parameter list.

Installation mode

You can install the inverter to the assembly plate with screws.

Installation requirements:

• Ensure that there is at least 75mm free space at the top and bottom of the inverter (in the cooling air inlet and outlet).

• Multiple inverters can be installed side by side.

• The maximum ambient temperature is 40°C if inverters of dimension R0 are installed side by side.

• Frequency converters with dimension R0 should be installed upright. The frequency converter with size R0 has no cooling fan.

• When installing a frequency converter with dimension R1, it is possible to tilt up to 90 degrees from the vertical direction to the full horizontal direction.

• Ensure that the heated cooling air discharged from the inverter does not enter the cooling air intake of other equipment.

• Install the inverter in the cabinet or housing. The cabinet-mounted inverter has IP20 protection rating.

Check the installation site

Check the installation site. Ensure:

• Adequate ventilation or cooling at the installation site to remove heat from the inverter. See Technical Data.

• The environmental conditions of the drive meet the relevant specifications. See technical data.

• The material above and below the walls and equipment behind the inverter is non-flammable.

• The mounting surface should be as close to vertical as possible and strong enough to support the inverter.

• Adequate space around the inverter for cooling, maintenance and operation.

• Ensure that there are no strong magnetic field sources near the inverter, such as high-current single-core wires or contactor coils. Strong magnetic fields can cause interference or lead to inaccuracies in the operation of the inverter.

Tools needed

To install the inverter mechanically, you need to use the following tools:

• Hand drill and suitable drill bit

• Bring a screwdriver or wrench with a suitable tool head

• Measuring tape and level

• Personal protective equipment.

Open the box and inspect the deliverables

The following is the frequency converter and its contents. Make sure all items are present and there are no signs of damage.

Package contents:

• Frequency converter

• Mounting accessories (wire clamps, metal flooring, screws, etc.)

• Quick installation and startup guide.

Check motor and inverter compatibility

The asynchronous AC induction motor or permanent magnet synchronous motor is used with the frequency converter. When the scalar motor control mode is used, multiple induction motors can be connected to the inverter simultaneously.

Ensure motor and inverter compatibility according to the rating table in the technical data.

Select power cable

■ General Guidelines

Select power and motor cables according to local regulations:

• Current: Select the cable that can carry the maximum load current and is suitable for the expected short circuit conditions provided by the power supply network. The installation method and ambient temperature affect the current carrying capacity of the cable. Comply with local regulations and laws.

• Temperature: For IEC equipment, the cable can withstand a temperature of at least 70 °C (158 °F) during long-term operation. For North America, choose cables with a temperature rating of at least 75 °C (167 °F).

• Voltage: 600 V AC cables can accept voltages up to 500 V AC. A 750 V AC cable can accept voltages up to 600 V AC. A 1000 V AC cable can accept voltages up to 690 V AC.
