The Oriental Motor ARD-C stepping motor driver combined with the CM10-1 controller forms a complete motion control solution for AR Series stepping motors. This driver-controller package provides closed-loop positioning and push-motion control capabilities, catering to demanding industrial automation applications requiring precise positioning and reliable operation. The AR Series motors equipped with rotor position detection sensors, combined with the ARD-C driver with built-in controller function, deliver the performance of a high-efficiency stepping motor system with closed-loop control advantages.

Technical Specifications

The ARD-C driver is part of the αSTEP AR Series, a closed-loop stepping motor system that ensures operation even upon quick acceleration or abrupt load changes. The driver supports multiple power input configurations depending on the ARD variant. For the ARD-C model designation, the C typically indicates single-phase 200-230 V AC power input. The driver features an energy-saving design that minimizes heat generation and reduces energy consumption compared to conventional stepping systems. The driver supports both sink output and source output circuits for flexible integration with external control systems.

Driver Features

The ARD-C driver includes automatic electromagnetic brake control for simplified operation of motors equipped with holding brakes. Comprehensive alarm and warning functions protect both the driver and motor from fault conditions, with diagnostic reporting for troubleshooting. The driver supports positioning operations, return-to-electrical home operations, and push-motion capabilities. The closed-loop control design enables continuous operation even under rapid acceleration or sudden load changes, maximizing torque output when needed. Up to 31 drivers can be connected to one host controller for multi-axis systems.

CM10-1 Controller Integration

The CM10-1 controller provides the command interface for the ARD-C driver system, enabling position control, speed control, and sequencing functions. The controller supports both stored data and pulse input control methods, providing flexibility for various application requirements. The combination of AR Series closed-loop stepping motors with ARD-C drivers eliminates the risk of step-out while maintaining the high torque density and low cost advantages of stepping motor technology.
