The DECS-200 operates from 120/240 VAC or 125 VDC auxiliary supply. Voltage sensing inputs are 0-300 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Excitation output can be configured up to 200 A continuous, with forced current capabilities for transient conditions. Regulation accuracy is ±0.1 percent. The system has a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +70 degrees Celsius and is built to seismic and environmental standards.
The DECS-200 uses advanced state-space control algorithms to achieve optimal voltage response with minimal overshoot. The power system stabilizer provides effective damping of low-frequency oscillations, improving overall grid stability. The limiter functions are coordinated to ensure safe operation within generator capability curves. The system also includes loss-of-field protection, overexcitation protection, and underfrequency ride-through.
With native support for IEC 61850 and other protocols, the DECS-200 seamlessly integrates into modern digital substations. It provides real-time data to SCADA systems and can be remotely monitored and controlled. The system also includes a built-in web server for browser-based access.
Designed for large steam, gas, and hydro turbines in utility power plants, as well as large industrial generators in cogeneration and standby applications. The DECS-200 is also suitable for shipboard power systems requiring high reliability and performance.
The dual-channel design ensures continuous operation even if one channel fails. The system continuously performs self-tests and health checks, with alarms for any detected anomalies. Event logs and waveform captures aid in post-disturbance analysis.
Basler Electric DECS-200 digital excitation control system represents the pinnacle of generator excitation technology. Its combination of precise regulation, advanced stability control, robust protection, and extensive connectivity makes it the ideal solution for the most demanding power generation applications.
