As this model has been officially discontinued by OMRON, the C500-PS223-E remains a critical component for maintaining and extending the service life of existing C500-based control systems, with many facilities still relying on these proven platforms for continuous production operations.

For system expansions or replacements, OMRON has designated the CJ1W-PA202 as the recommended successor model, providing a migration path from the C500 series to the more modern CJ series platform while maintaining compatibility with existing I/O configurations where adapters are employed.


Installation Notes

The C500-PS223-E must be installed in the rightmost slot of the CPU Rack, as specified in the SYSMAC C500 installation manual. Before applying power, verify that the voltage selector is correctly configured for the available input voltage range (short terminals for 100-120 VAC, open for 200-240 VAC). Ensure the total current consumption of all units mounted on the rack does not exceed the available capacity of 10 A at 5 VDC for I/O units. The 24 VDC output terminals provide up to 0.8 A; if connected I/O units require higher current, an external power supply must be used to prevent system shutdown.
