The Omron CJ1W-PTS51 is a high-precision temperature input unit designed for the SYSMAC CJ-series programmable logic controller systems. This process analog I/O unit provides four isolated thermocouple input channels, enabling accurate temperature measurement for industrial applications such as heat treating, plastic processing, semiconductor manufacturing, and HVAC control. The CJ1W-PTS51 supports multiple thermocouple types with 0.1°C resolution and includes conversion speeds of 250 ms for four-point processing, making it suitable for both process monitoring and closed-loop temperature control applications.

The module includes process value alarm setting capabilities with L (low) and H (high) alarm thresholds per channel. The alarm status is available to the PLC program for automated response actions such as adjusting heating power, sounding alarms, or shutting down equipment. The CJ1W-PTS51 is classified as a digital I/O unit for I/O allocation purposes, taking digital I/O points from the total allocation for the CJ-series CPU. The number of I/O points consumed is DIP switch selectable: when configured for 1 to 3 inputs, 48 digital I/O points are allocated; when configured for 4 inputs, 64 digital I/O points are allocated; when configured for 5 to 6 inputs, 96 digital I/O points are allocated. This flexible allocation allows users to optimize I/O utilization based on the actual number of input channels used in their application.
