Omron CQM1H-MAB42 Analog I/O Inner Board for CQM1H Series PLCs
The Omron CQM1H-MAB42 is an Analog I/O Inner Board designed for the CQM1H series of programmable logic controllers, specifically compatible with CQM1H-CPU51 and CQM1H-CPU61 CPU units. This board provides four analog input channels and two analog output channels in a compact form factor, installed in the Inner Board slot 2 (right slot) of the CQM1H PLC system. The CQM1H-MAB42 extends the analog I/O capabilities of the base CPU, enabling the measurement of analog process signals and control of analog actuators in industrial applications.
Technical Specifications
The CQM1H-MAB42 provides four analog inputs and two analog outputs. Each input's signal range can be set independently from the following options: -10 to +10 V, 0 to 10 V, 0 to 5 V, and 0 to 20 mA. Each output's signal range can also be set independently from -10 to +10 V and 0 to 20 mA. Unlike the CQM1-AD041, this board does not have a hardware average processing function. If averaging of data is required, the CPU data averaging instruction (AVG) can be used to achieve similar functionality. The board features photocoupler isolation between its inputs and the programmable controller for electrical noise immunity.

Physical Characteristics
The CQM1H-MAB42 has compact dimensions of 25 mm width, 110 mm height, and 107 mm depth, making it suitable for space-constrained PLC configurations. The board weight is 100 g maximum. Current consumption is 400 mA maximum at 5 V DC supplied from the power supply unit. The board includes standard accessories including two plugs (XM2D-1501, Omron) and two hoods (XM2S-1511, Omron) for signal connections. The board is designed for installation in the inner board slot of the CQM1H PLC system, requiring no additional cabinet space beyond the base CPU.
System Integration
The CQM1H-MAB42 is installed in the Inner Board slot 2 (right slot) of the CQM1H PLC system. The board interfaces with the CPU via the internal bus, allowing analog data to be read and written using standard PLC instructions. The analog inputs can be used to measure process variables including temperature, pressure, flow, and level from field transmitters. The analog outputs can control proportional valves, variable frequency drives, chart recorders, and other analog-actuated devices. When analog averaging is required, the CPU's AVG instruction can be used to compute average values over specified time periods.
Applications
The Omron CQM1H-MAB42 is deployed in industrial automation applications requiring analog I/O capabilities within CQM1H PLC systems. Typical applications include temperature monitoring and control using thermocouple or RTD transmitters with 4-20 mA or 0-10 V outputs, pressure regulation in hydraulic and pneumatic systems using analog pressure sensors and proportional valves, and flow control in fluid handling systems where analog flow transmitters and control valves are used. The board is also used in position feedback systems, speed control applications, and any industrial process requiring analog input measurement and analog output control within a CQM1H PLC platform.
