Eaton Vickers EEA-PAM-523-A-32 Proportional Amplifier

The Eaton EEA-PAM-523-A-32 (also referenced as 02-326001) is a precision electronic amplifier module from the Vickers® product line, designed for use with proportional solenoid-operated directional and flow control valves. This power amplifier card accepts low-level analog command signals from PLCs, motion controllers, or potentiometers and converts them into a high-frequency pulse-width modulated (PWM) output current to drive the valve solenoids. The result is precise, repeatable control of hydraulic flow, pressure, and direction in industrial machinery.

Functional Description

The amplifier compares the command signal with an internal ramp generator to control the solenoid current. The PWM output reduces power dissipation in the amplifier and valve coils while providing fast response. Adjustable dither (a high-frequency AC component) keeps the valve spool in continuous micro-motion, overcoming static friction and improving hysteresis. The module includes separate adjustments for maximum and minimum current, allowing precise matching to the valve's characteristics.

Compatible Valves

This amplifier is optimized for Vickers proportional valves including series KDG, KSD, KFD, and KBS. It can also be used with other brands' proportional valves with similar electrical characteristics (solenoid resistance and inductance).
