EPRO SDM010 Signal Distribution Module

The EPRO SDM010 is a versatile signal distribution module designed to interface with EPRO eddy current displacement sensors (such as the PR642x series). It accepts the raw RF signal from one or two sensors (depending on configuration) and provides multiple conditioned, buffered outputs for simultaneous connection to various monitoring and diagnostic devices. The module ensures signal integrity over long cable runs and provides galvanic isolation to protect sensitive monitoring equipment from ground loops and electrical noise. It is an essential component in large-scale machinery protection systems, enabling flexible signal routing without degradation.

Applications

The SDM010 is widely used in power plants, oil & gas facilities, and industrial processing plants where multiple systems require access to the same sensor signal. For example, in a turbine protection system, one output may feed the overspeed protection monitor, another to a condition monitoring system, and a third to a portable analyzer for troubleshooting. It simplifies wiring and eliminates the need for signal splitters.

Integration and Configuration

The module is powered by 24 VDC and mounts on a standard DIN rail. Input connections are made via screw terminals compatible with the sensor's coaxial cable. Outputs are also screw terminals, providing easy connection to various monitoring devices. No configuration is required beyond wiring; the module operates transparently, preserving the sensor's original characteristics.

Reliability and Environmental Compliance

Designed for continuous industrial use, the SDM010 meets IEC 61000-4 EMC immunity standards and is tested for vibration and shock. Its compact metal housing provides shielding against electromagnetic interference. The module is RoHS compliant and CE marked.
