The DILM300A-S is rated for operational currents up to 300A in AC-3 utilization category (motor starting) and 400A in AC-1 category (resistive loads). It complies with IEC 60947-4-1 and EN 60947-4-1 standards, ensuring reliable performance worldwide. The contactor is suitable for voltages up to 690V AC and can handle motor powers up to 160kW at 400V AC.

Design and Construction

This three-pole contactor features a rugged construction with double-break main contacts made of silver alloy for high electrical endurance. The arc quenching system utilizes de-ion plates to rapidly extinguish arcs, minimizing contact erosion. The magnet system is designed for silent AC operation with low power consumption, and it is available with various coil voltages (24V AC/DC to 500V AC). The "-S" suffix indicates the inclusion of a built-in surge suppressor (varistor/RC circuit) that protects the coil from voltage spikes.

Auxiliary Contacts and Accessories

The DILM300A-S is equipped with one normally open and one normally closed auxiliary contact as standard. Additional auxiliary contact blocks (side-mounted or top-mounted) can be easily attached without tools, expanding the functionality for interlocking, signaling, or PLC interfacing. The contactor also accepts mechanical interlocks for reversing applications, timer modules, and coil interface modules.

Dimensions and Mounting

Designed for space-saving installations, the DILM300A-S has a width of just 120mm, a height of 190mm, and a depth of 170mm (including terminals). It can be mounted on a DIN rail (EN 60715) or directly onto a backplate using screws. The IP20 protected terminals accept cables up to 240mm² (copper) and have clear markings for easy wiring.

Environmental and Operational Data

The contactor operates reliably in ambient temperatures from -40°C to +70°C and can be stored at temperatures down to -55°C. It is vibration-resistant according to IEC 60068-2-6 and shock-resistant per IEC 60068-2-27. The electrical life under AC-3 duty is typically 1.5 million operations, while the mechanical life exceeds 10 million operations, ensuring long-term durability.

Applications

Typical applications include motor starters (direct-on-line, star-delta), industrial machinery, conveyor systems, pumps, fans, and compressors. The DILM300A-S is also used in power factor correction and heating loads.
