Eaton E84BAN Communication Interface Module

The Eaton E84BAN is a communication interface module designed for use with Eaton XC200 and XC100 series programmable logic controllers. This module provides Profibus DP slave connectivity, enabling seamless integration of Eaton controllers into distributed automation networks. The E84BAN supports high-speed data exchange with Profibus DP masters, making it an essential component for systems requiring standardized fieldbus communication.

Profibus DP Slave Operation

As a Profibus DP slave, the E84BAN responds to cyclic data exchange requests from a Profibus DP master, typically a PLC or DCS. The module supports DP-V0 for cyclic data transfer and DP-V1 for acyclic parameter access and diagnostics. Configuration is accomplished using a GSD file that describes the module capabilities to the Profibus master engineering tool. The GSD file is provided with the module, enabling simple integration into any Profibus network.
