The Fireye 95DSS3-1CEX is an explosion-proof ultraviolet flame scanner from the Fireye InSight II series, manufactured by Fireye. This device is a critical flame detection component within a burner management system, specifically designed for use in hazardous areas where flammable gases or vapors may be present. Its primary function is to detect the presence of ultraviolet radiation emitted by a flame and provide a reliable, fail-safe signal to the burner control system to confirm successful ignition and continuous flame presence.

Technical Specifications

The 95DSS3-1CEX operates on 24 VDC power and features electronic self-checking for continuous integrity monitoring. The scanner detects UV wavelengths typically in the range of 185 to 260 nanometers emitted by the flame, providing high sensitivity to gas and oil flames while being largely immune to sunlight and hot refractory radiation. The viewing angle is typically narrow at 10 to 20 degrees, providing precise targeting of the flame and reducing susceptibility to background radiation.
