For air-cooled BG6, maintain at least 200 mm vertical clearance. For liquid-cooled, a cooling circuit with 8 l/min nominal flow is required. Use shielded motor cables (max 95 mm² terminal capacity). An external mains choke is mandatory. The PE conductor must be sized accordingly (≥10 mm² copper or two conductors). For EMC compliance, use external mains filter for BG6 (no internal filter).
Commission with DriveManager 5. The 7-segment display guides initial setup. Enable STO (ISDSH and ENPO at +24V) to release power stage. The drive supports various fieldbus options (EtherCAT, SERCOS) and iPlc programming. Parameter sets can be stored on MMC card for series commissioning.
The internal brake chopper handles regenerative energy. With an external 12 Ω braking resistor, continuous braking power is 56 kW, peak 56 kW. For applications with frequent braking, ensure the resistor’s thermal capacity is sufficient. A bimetal switch in the resistor should be wired to a digital input for overtemperature protection.
Suitable for servo motors up to 45 kW (400V). Typical uses include large presses, extruders, cranes, wind turbines, and heavy-duty test rigs. The 205A peak current ensures excellent dynamic response.
Complies with EN 61800-5-1, EN 61800-3 (C2/C3 with external filter), LVD, EMC. UL approval for BG6 with class RK1 fuses (e.g., 3 x 100 A).
