The SO84.450 requires a robust installation. Mount vertically on a heavy-duty plate. Connect liquid cooling with 3/8 inch female threads, using drip-free quick-release nipples. The external precharging circuit must be wired exactly as per the manual (see Fig. 3.14). Sequence: S1 on → K2 closes (precharge via X45) → at defined DC link voltage, K3 closes K1 → K2 opens. Use ring terminal ends for power connections (M10 for DC link, M12 for motor). The external mains choke (uk=2%) is mandatory.
Commission with DriveManager 5. Apply 24V control supply (X44). Monitor precharge via display. Enable STO inputs (ISDSH, ENPO) to release power stage. Parameter sets can be stored to MMC card. The drive supports fieldbus options (EtherCAT, SERCOS) and iPlc programming via CoDeSys.
The internal brake chopper handles up to 395 kW continuous with an external 1.7 Ω braking resistor. This is essential for high-inertia loads. Always wire the resistor’s bimetal thermal switch to a digital input (e.g., ISDxx) to disable the power stage in case of overtemperature.
Suitable for servo motors up to 250 kW (400V). Typical applications include heavy steel rolling mills, large forging presses, mining hoists, marine propulsion, and large wind turbine pitch or yaw control. The 765A peak current provides exceptional torque for the most demanding cycles.
Complies with 2006/95/EC, 2004/108/EC, EN 61800-5-1, EN 61800-3 (C2/C3 with external filter). UL approval for BG7 is planned.
The LTi SO84.450 represents the pinnacle of ServoOne power and performance, engineered for the world’s most demanding single-axis servo applications.
