Mitsubishi NF630-CW Molded Case Circuit Breaker

The Mitsubishi NF630-CW is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker MCCB from the WS-V series NF-C economy class. This device provides overcurrent and short-circuit protection for electrical distribution systems and equipment. With a rated current of 600 amperes and frame size of 630 amperes, this breaker is suitable for incoming power protection, feeder circuits, and motor branch circuit protection in industrial and commercial electrical installations.

Electrical Ratings

Poles configuration: 3-pole 3P. Rated current: 600 A. Trip current rating: 600 AT. Frame current rating: 600 AF. Rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp: 8 kV. Rated insulation voltage Ui: 690 V AC. Rated operational voltage: up to 690 V AC for appropriate applications. The breaker is designed for AC systems at 50 Hz or 60 Hz operating frequency.

Breaking Capacity

Ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity Icu varies with system voltage. At 400 V AC, Icu is 36 kA per IEC 60947-2. At 200-230 V AC, Icu is 50 kA. At 380 V AC, Icu is 40 kA. At 415 V AC, Icu is 36 kA. At 440 V AC, Icu is 36 kA. At 500 V AC, Icu is 18 kA. For DC applications, Icu is 20 kA at 250 V DC. Service short-circuit breaking capacity Ics is 18 kA at 400 V AC, representing 50 percent of Icu. The breaking performance meets IEC 60947-2 standards for industrial circuit protection.


Protection Functions

Trip unit type: thermal-magnetic with fixed settings. Thermal protection provides overload protection with inverse time characteristic, tripping threshold fixed at 600 A. The thermal element responds to sustained overcurrent conditions typical of equipment overloads. Magnetic protection provides instantaneous short-circuit protection. The magnetic trip responds to high-magnitude fault currents to rapidly interrupt short-circuit conditions. The fixed trip settings simplify installation and ensure consistent protection performance without adjustment requirements.

Dimensions: Width 140 mm x Height 257 mm x Depth 134 mm. Electrical durability with load at 440 V AC: 1000 operations. Mechanical durability at no load: 6000 operations. Connection type: front lugs or bars connection suitable for panel wiring and busbar systems. Installation category A utilization category. The compact frame size facilitates installation in standard distribution panels and motor control centers.

Standards and Approvals

CE marked for European market compliance with Low Voltage Directive. Marine use approvals include Nippon Kaiji Kyokai NK, Lloyd Register LR, American Bureau of Shipping ABS, and Germanischer Lloyd GL. Degree of pollution rating 3 for industrial environments. IEC 60947-2 and EN 60947-2 compliance ensures international acceptance. The breaker is certified for use in electrical systems requiring compliance with global industrial standards.

Protection Applications

The NF630-CW provides overload and short-circuit protection for electrical circuits, protecting wiring and power distribution equipment from damage. For short-circuit-only protection where standard thermal-magnetic characteristics are not required, a dedicated short-circuit protective version without overcurrent trip is available in this product series for special applications requiring only instantaneous trip functionality.

WS-V Series Technology

The WS-V series incorporates new cutoff technology to enhance interrupting performance while maintaining compact dimensions. This series is designed to respond to individual market needs for power receiving, distribution, and machinery applications. The breaker is compatible with the latest standards of various countries to deliver optimal performance based on specific installation requirements. The design balances economical pricing with reliable protective function.

Installation Considerations

Front connection terminals accept lugs or bars for wiring flexibility. The breaker mounts in standard panel cutouts and accepts busbar connections for distribution assemblies. Operating mechanism supports manual switching and accommodates optional accessories including shunt trips, auxiliary contacts, and under-voltage releases for enhanced control and monitoring functions.
