The OEMAX NX-Y16R is a 16-channel digital output module that uses electromechanical relays for switching AC or DC loads. Each output is a form A (normally open) dry contact, rated at 2A continuous current at 250V AC or 30V DC. The module is designed for applications requiring galvanic isolation between the PLC and field loads, such as controlling motor contactors, solenoid valves, pilot lights, and other inductive or resistive loads. It is a direct replacement for legacy NX-Y16R modules in NX Series systems.

The NX-Y16R uses high-quality relays with silver alloy contacts, ensuring reliable switching even after many cycles. The contacts are suitable for both AC and DC loads, making the module versatile for a wide range of control applications. Each output is individually replaceable (relay socketed) in case of failure, reducing maintenance cost and downtime. The module includes built-in snubber circuits (RC suppression) across the contacts to extend relay life when switching inductive loads.
Each channel has a green LED that illuminates when the output is energized. A red LED indicates module fault or communication loss. The module supports readback of relay status for diagnostic purposes. For safety applications, the relays are not forced-guided; therefore, the module is suitable for general-purpose control but not for safety-rated functions without additional external monitoring.
The NX-Y16R is used for controlling motor starters and contactors, actuating solenoid valves in pneumatic/hydraulic systems, switching heating elements and cooling fans, driving indicator lamps and alarms, interfacing with legacy equipment that requires dry contacts, and building automation (lighting, HVAC dampers).
