OMRON SYSMAC C200HS‑CPU01‑E – Compact PLC CPU Unit

The OMRON SYSMAC C200HS-CPU01-E is a highly regarded programmable logic controller CPU that serves as the brain for the C200HS series automation systems. This unit provides a balanced combination of processing speed, memory capacity, and I/O handling, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial control applications from packaging to material handling.

Processor and Performance

The CPU01‑E is based on a 16‑bit microprocessor with an instruction execution time of 0.15 µs for basic logic instructions and 0.6 µs for special instructions. It has a user program memory of 7.2K words (RAM) backed by a lithium battery for data retention. The data memory includes 4K words of internal relays and 1K words of holding relays, providing ample storage for medium‑complexity programs.

Built‑in I/O and Expansion

The CPU unit itself does not include built‑in digital I/O, but it supports expansion through a variety of C200H‑series I/O modules mounted on a backplane. Up to 11 racks can be connected, allowing a maximum of 512 I/O points. The system supports high‑speed counters, pulse outputs, and interrupt inputs via special I/O units.


Programming and Software

Programming is accomplished using OMRON’s SYSMAC programming tools (CX‑Programmer or earlier LSS). Operating temperature range is 0 °C to 55 °C with humidity 10% to 90% non‑condensing. The CPU consumes 5 V DC from the backplane with typical current of 1.2 A. It is rated for pollution degree 2 and complies with CE and UL standards.
