The Phoenix Contact QUINT PS-100-240AC/24DC/10 is a rugged 240W industrial power supply designed for demanding automation applications. It converts a wide input voltage range (100-240V AC) to a regulated 24V DC output with a continuous current of 10A. The unit features active power factor correction (PFC), high efficiency (up to 92%), and Phoenix Contact's exclusive SFB (Selectivity Fuse Breaking) technology, which delivers up to 6 times the nominal current for 12ms to reliably trip standard miniature circuit breakers, preventing system-wide voltage dips during startup of capacitive loads.

Conventional power supplies typically limit the output current to 1.2-1.5 times the nominal value during overload, which is insufficient to trip standard miniature circuit breakers (MCBs). This often causes the power supply to go into hiccup mode or shut down when a capacitive load is connected. The QUINT PS with SFB delivers a short burst of up to 60A for 12ms, which reliably trips MCBs, isolating the faulty branch while maintaining full voltage on other loads. This reduces downtime and prevents unnecessary power supply failures.
The power supply includes a dry-contact relay output that signals "DC OK" when the output voltage exceeds 90% of the setpoint. The front panel has a green LED for output status and a yellow LED for remote on/off. The device features a wide temperature range and is designed for continuous operation in harsh environments. The MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) exceeds 1 million hours at 40°C per IEC 61709. The unit also includes a power boost capability of 125% for 5 seconds to handle short-term overloads.
The QUINT PS-100-240AC/24DC/10 is used to power PLCs, I/O modules, sensors, drives, and other automation devices in industrial control cabinets. Its SFB technology is particularly beneficial in systems with long cable runs, many parallel loads, or where multiple power supplies are used in parallel for redundancy.
