The R37 gearbox utilizes precision-ground helical gears, which offer several advantages over traditional spur gears. The angled teeth engage more gradually, resulting in smoother power transmission, significantly lower noise levels, and higher load-carrying capacity. This makes the R37DS56L ideal for continuous-duty applications where mechanical longevity and energy efficiency are paramount, such as in logistics conveyors and pharmaceutical packaging lines.

The gearbox housing is constructed from high-strength cast iron, providing excellent torsional rigidity and vibration damping. The internal lubrication system is designed to minimize friction and heat buildup, extending the life of the oil and the internal seals. The R37 series is characterized by its high permissible overhung loads, allowing for direct mounting of sprockets or pulleys onto the output shaft without compromising the bearing life.
