Honeywell S7999D1006 Touch Screen Operator Interface
The Honeywell S7999D1006 is a high-resolution color touch screen designed for use with Honeywell burner management systems and combustion control solutions. It serves as a human-machine interface (HMI) for devices such as the EC7800 or RM7800 series relay modules, allowing operators to monitor burner status, adjust setpoints, and view diagnostic information in real time.
Display and Interface
The unit features a 5.7 inch (diagonal) active matrix TFT LCD with 640 x 480 pixel resolution and 65,536 colors. The resistive touch screen supports gloved operation and is optically bonded to reduce glare. Backlight brightness is adjustable (0-100%) with a rated life of 50,000 hours. The interface includes programmable function keys (four physical buttons) and a membrane keyboard for emergency stops or manual overrides.
Connectivity and Protocols
An RS-232 serial port (9-pin D-sub) connects to the controller’s service port. An isolated RS-485 port supports Modbus RTU (slave mode) for integration with building management systems. The device also includes a USB host port for data logging to a USB flash drive (FAT32 format). Configuration is done via Honeywell’s PC-based software, which allows custom screen layouts, alarm lists, and trend charts.

Electrical and Environmental Specifications
Power supply: 24 V DC (18-30 V), consumption 12 W typical. Operating temperature: -20°C to 60°C. Storage: -30°C to 80°C. Humidity: 5% to 95% non-condensing. Protection class: IP65 (front panel when properly mounted), IP20 rear. The device meets CE and UL 60730 standards. Vibration resistance: 2 g (10-150 Hz).
Typical Applications
Commonly used in industrial boilers, kilns, furnaces, and heat treat ovens. The touch screen displays flame intensity, fuel/air ratio, valve positions, and runtime counters. Alarms (e.g., flame failure, high pressure) are shown with a pop-up banner and audible buzzer. The data logging feature captures up to 10,000 events with timestamps for troubleshooting.
Mounting and Installation
The S7999D1006 mounts in a standard 5.7 inch panel cutout (189 mm x 144 mm) with four screws. A gasket seals the front against water and dust. The unit is powered separately from the burner controller; a 2 A fuse is recommended on the DC supply line. Initial setup requires entering the system parameters (e.g., number of burner stages, purge time) via the configuration software.
