Yaskawa SGDH-02AE-OY 200W AC Servo Driver (Version 38840)

The Yaskawa SGDH-02AE-OY is a 200W servo amplifier from the Sigma II series operating on 200V AC mains. Version 38840 denotes a specific firmware revision that provides stable performance for a wide range of servomotor applications. This driver features three control modes: position, speed, and torque, selectable via digital inputs.

Electrical Ratings

Input power: 200-230V AC ±10%, single-phase or three-phase, 50/60Hz. Rated output current: 1.6A RMS. Peak current: 4.0A. Power consumption: 45W typical. Built-in dynamic brake and regenerative circuit (10W internal resistor). For high-inertia loads, external regenerative resistor (minimum 40 ohm) can be connected.

Control Modes and I/O Configuration

Mode selection via CN1 pins: Position, Speed, Torque, or internal speed set by analog voltage. Digital inputs (8 points, 24V DC) include servo-on, alarm reset, gain switching, torque limit selection. Digital outputs (5 points, open collector) provide ready, alarm, positioning completion, and speed coincidence. Analog monitor outputs (±10V) for speed and torque feedback.


Position Control (PLC Interface)

Supports pulse train input up to 500kHz in CW/CCW, sign+pulse, or A/B quadrature formats. Input circuitry accepts line driver (RS-422) or 5V/24V open collector. Electronic gear ratio programmable (1/1000 to 1000). The driver also outputs encoder pulse (A/B/Z line driver) for PLC feedback, with dividing ratio selectable.

Versions and Firmware 38840

Version 38840 includes all standard Sigma II functions plus improved vibration suppression algorithm for mechanical resonance. It also provides filter for analog torque command (smoothing). The firmware is field-upgradable via RS-232. Diagnostic data includes cumulative operation hours and number of power cycles.

Protection and Safety

Used with Yaskawa SGMAH-02AAA or SGMGH-02A motors in small assembly equipment, labeling machines, and conveyor indexing. Its compact size and simple pulse train interface make it popular for retrofitting older motion systems.

Wiring and Connectors

Main power connector: screw terminal (2 points for L1, L2, L3). Motor power connector: CN2 (phoenix type). Encoder connector: CN3 (D-sub 20-pin). I/O connector: CN1 (D-sub 50-pin). Control power (L1C, L2C) can be separated to keep logic alive when main power is off.
