SCE M68-2000 2-Axis Motion Controller Firmware 3.30 Hardware B.1_1/B

The SCE M68-2000 is a dedicated 2-axis motion controller designed for CNC and servo-driven automation. With firmware version 3.30 and hardware revision B.1_1/B, this unit provides coordinated motion control, G-code interpretation, and PLC-style I/O. It is suitable for milling, routing, pick-and-place, and XY table applications.

Motion Control Specifications

Two independent axes with maximum pulse output frequency of 4 MHz per axis. Positioning range: ±8,388,607 counts (23-bit). Supported interpolation: linear, circular (2D), and helical. Acceleration profiles: trapezoidal and S-curve. Electronic gearing and camming available. Encoder feedback up to 2 MHz for closed-loop operation.


Firmware Features (Version 3.30)

Firmware 3.30 adds real-time G-code parser (M, G, T, S codes). Native support for incremental and absolute programming. Subroutine call and looping. Tool length compensation and cutter radius compensation. Built-in PLC task executes ladder logic while motion runs concurrently. Expanded register file for user variables (R0-R1999).

Hardware Revision B.1_1/B

This hardware version features improved noise immunity on pulse outputs and encoder inputs. Onboard memory: 2 MB for part programs (expandable via SD card slot). Real-time clock with battery backup. Communication ports: RS-232 (programming/CNC upload), RS-485 (Modbus RTU), USB device, and optional Ethernet module. The board includes 16 opto-isolated digital inputs (24V DC) and 12 transistor outputs (0.5A).

Programming and Software

M68 Studio software (version 2.1 or later) is used for ladder programming, motion parameter tuning, and G-code transfer. The controller supports offline simulation and real-time oscilloscope view of position/velocity. Programs can be stored in internal flash and started via external pushbutton or PLC command.

I/O Expansion

Up to 128 additional I/O points using SCE expansion modules (digital, analog, thermocouple). Modules connect via ribbon cable and are auto-detected. The expansion bus supports 8 modules per controller. Analog inputs (0-10V) for joystick or pressure feedback can be read by the PLC program.

Environmental and Mounting

Operating temperature: -10°C to 55°C. Storage: -20°C to 70°C. Humidity: 5-95% non-condensing. Power supply: 24V DC ±10% @ 300 mA (plus external load). Enclosure: DIN rail mountable (metal housing). Dimensions: 150 x 110 x 45 mm. Weight: 0.8 kg.

Ideal for small CNC routers, dispensing machines, laser engravers, coil winders, and automated soldering stations. The dual-axis control simplifies gantry systems. Integrated homing with limit switch handling reduces programming effort.
