This project is the main artery of Bangladesh's ‘East-West Gas Transmission’ strategy and a national key project, as well as a basic energy supply pipeline for the industrial development of western Bangladesh, approved by the Ministry of Energy of Bangladesh and invested by the National Gas Transmission Company of Bangladesh, which is of great significance to the promotion of the security of energy supply and economic and social development of Bangladesh. The project is the first of its kind in Bangladesh.

The project is a vivid embodiment of Shaanxi Construction and Installation Group's active response to the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative and following the strategic deployment of Shaanxi Construction's ‘Going Global’. The project is located in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, the construction content includes two valve chambers in the east and west, two sections of buried pipeline length of 5 kilometres, the length of overhead laying pipeline along the railway bridge is 5 kilometres, the diameter of DN900, the design adopts ASME standards.

The pipeline and expansion bend construction of the bridge section is the key and difficult point of the project. The project department deepened the design scheme, determined the best construction plan, adopted the methods of local dredging, pontoon crane bow and stern casting eight anchors, and modular prefabrication, etc., overcame the adverse conditions of the riverbed rising, the water level and flow rate surge, and the multi-party cross-construction, and saved the construction period and cost, and completed the node target successfully, which was highly appreciated by the owner, GTCL and India DORSCH Supervisory Company. The project was highly praised by the owner GTCL and Indian DORSCH Supervision Company, which demonstrated the comprehensive strength of Shaanxi Construction & Installation Group in overseas construction.
