First, from small to large leapfrog development from weak to strong cast brilliant

In 1889, China's first cement enterprise - Tangshan fine cotton Soil Factory was founded, producing the first barrel of "foreign ash". Old China, always in a bloody rain, domestic and foreign troubles, frequent wars, natural and man-made disasters, deep water, the national cement industry difficult to start, wind and rain, development is extremely slow. In 1949, there were 35 cement factories in China, with a output of only 660,000 tons, a vast country with a population of 450 million, and less than 1.5 kilograms of cement per capita, China's cement industry lagged far behind Western countries.

The 70 years of development of the cement industry in the Republic of China is the 70 years of hard work and forging ahead, and the 70 years of hard work and unremitting efforts of several generations of cement people. Today, garden-style cement plants with green environmental protection and circular economy are all over the country.

After 70 years of hard work, the cement industry in New China has made remarkable achievements, and a large number of high-quality enterprises represented by conch cement occupy the forefront of the world's cement industry in terms of operation quality and technology research and development capabilities, which is caused by the hard work and joint efforts of several generations of cement people. Through years of scientific and technological innovation and continuous investment in green development, today's Chinese cement industry has embarked on the road of high-quality development of advanced manufacturing and environmental protection industries, not only in terms of capacity scale, benefit contribution, energy efficiency and environmental protection, resource utilization and other aspects of the world's advanced ranks, China's cement overseas investment and overseas project construction scale also accounts for half of the world's cement industry. 70 years of hard work and 70 years of innovative development have demonstrated the brilliant development road of China's cement industry.


Cement production capacity, consumption, varieties, ranking first in the world - China has more than 3,000 cement enterprises, including more than 1,100 cement clinker production enterprises, 1681 rotary kiln production lines, designed clinker production capacity of 1.82 billion tons, the total designed cement production capacity of 3 billion tons. China's rapid economic development continues to drive the demand for cement market. In 2018, China's cement output reached 2.177 billion tons, accounting for 56 percent of the world's total annual cement output, an increase of more than 3,300 times that of 1949. Since 1986, the production capacity and consumption of cement has continued to rank first in the world.

After several generations of efforts, China has developed six systems, seven categories of a total of more than 60 kinds of special cement varieties, widely used in hydropower, nuclear power, coal, transportation, petroleum, offshore industry, national defense and other special engineering fields, to meet the needs of national economic construction. The Three Gorges Project of the Yangtze River, Daya Bay nuclear power plant, all high-speed railway bases, all urban subways, Zhoushan Port pier, Nanhai oil field, Qinling Tunnel, Yuedong-wan Bridge, Beijing Daxing Airport and other national key projects have used special cement produced in China.

Enterprise mergers and acquisitions, transformation and upgrading, two major groups into the world's top 500 - In 2007, China Building Materials Group, Anhui Conch Group and other large enterprises to fully start market integration, a large number of private enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises around the acquisition, rapid expansion of their own capacity scale, accelerate the market layout. In 2016, a series of restructuring events, such as the merger of China National Building Materials Group and Sinoma Group, the reorganization of BBMG Group and Jidong Group, and the integration of Huaxin Cement into Lafarge Ruian Cement assets, have increased the industrial concentration. In 2018, the cement clinker production capacity of the top 50 enterprises accounted for more than 75% of the country's total, and the clinker production capacity of the top 10 large enterprises reached 57%, of which the annual clinker production capacity of China Building Materials, Conch Cement and Jidong Cement in Jinzhou reached 390 million tons, 210 million tons and 110 million tons respectively, ranking first, third and fifth in the world cement ranking. China National Building Materials Group and Conch Group became the world's top 500 enterprises. Anhui Conch cement with its resources, market and management advantages, the annual benefit index has been ranked first in the industry for many years, and has realized the cement dream of "the world's cement to see China, China's cement to see conch".

In the 70 years since the founding of New China, the future and destiny of the Chinese nation have been completely changed, and China's cement industry has also moved toward a great rejuvenation. History is the best textbook, looking back at the 70 years of extraordinary history of new China, looking back at the past of the leapfrog development of the cement industry of the Republic, may be able to deepen our understanding of the various problems faced in the process of modernization, and guide us to open a more glorious course and create a greater miracle.

History has proved that the transformation of the system mechanism is a powerful driving force for the development of the cement industry.

In 1949, the founding of New China, the realization of the most profound and greatest social changes in history, new China has shown strong vitality and huge potential for development, the people as the master of the country, greatly inspired the enthusiasm of cement people, burst out the energy of socialist construction, cement industry rapid development.

In 1978, the CPC Central Committee decided to reform and open up and put the focus on economic construction. Subsequently, it experienced the reform of the socialist market economy, from the monorail system of unified cement distribution to the dual-track system, and then completely cancelled the dual-track system, which greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of enterprises.

In 1992, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made it clear that we should vigorously develop mixed ownership economy and establish shareholding system as the main form of realization of public ownership. Cement enterprises from a single state-owned capital to the diversification of rapid development; The pace of reform and opening up has further increased, and the industry has not only introduced foreign technology and equipment, but also introduced foreign investment. Seven of the world's top 10 cement companies, including Lafarge, Holcim and Heidelberg, have entered the Chinese market and participated in the construction of China's cement industry by means of sole ownership, joint venture, equity participation and holding. China has become an important part of the international cement market.


History has proved that independent research and innovation is the key to the modernization of the cement industry.

After the founding of New China, the foundation of cement industry is weak, so it is a very difficult task to realize the modernization of cement industry. In history, the policies of "integration of earth and the west", "simultaneous development of large and small", and "mobilizing the enthusiasm of the central and local governments" were caused by the national conditions at that time. The cement industry not only undertakes the task of development, transformation and improvement of shaft kiln cement, but also undertakes the task of developing and innovating new dry cement technology. In the case of weak national strength and insufficient foreign exchange reserves, it is unrealistic to completely rely on the introduction of foreign advanced technology and equipment, and we must take the road of combining introduction with independent research and development.

Before 2000, the development of new dry process cement was slow, mainly due to the high project investment, long construction cycle and slow production standards. In this regard, at that time, the National Building Materials Bureau in the organization of the implementation of cement "2,000 tons of one-stop", "4,000 tons of one-stop" technical equipment research and development, through the construction of demonstration lines, completed the independent innovation of new dry production technology.

In 2006, the National Development and Reform Commission and other eight departments of the "Several opinions on accelerating the structural adjustment of the cement industry" clearly defined the "eleventh Five-Year" period of the cement industry development direction and structural adjustment goals, guided the cement industry to speed up the pace of industrial structural adjustment, put forward the focus on supporting the country's 60 large cement enterprises to invest in the construction of new dry cement projects. At this point, China's cement industry has entered a rapid era of vigorously developing new dry cement, and nine years of structural adjustment has achieved a fundamental change in the economic growth mode of the cement industry.
