Supports RAID mode? The manual does not mention that Intel NM10 usually does not support RAID and is only used as an independent port.

5.2 Expansion Slot

1 x standard PCI slot (32-bit/33MHz), capable of connecting traditional fieldbus cards such as Profibus and CAN cards.

1 x PCIe x1 slot (for fly wires or adapter cards), suitable for connecting high-speed network cards or data acquisition cards.

1 x Mini PCIe full card slot (supporting PCIe 1.0a, USB 2.0, and mSATA II signals), capable of installing WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G modules, or mSATA SSDs. If mSATA is used, it will occupy the aforementioned SATA shared channel; If using USB or PCIe devices, it does not affect SATA.

Suggestions for expanding combinations:

If wireless communication is required, a 4G LTE module (Mini PCIe, USB interface) can be inserted, while retaining PCI and PCIe x1 for other cards.

If high-speed local storage is required, mSATA SSD can be used, and a large capacity hard drive can be connected to the SATA port.

USB and Digital I/O

6.1 USB 2.0 port

Rear 4 USB 2.0 (standard Type A).

The onboard pin provides 3 additional USB 2.0 ports (which can be pulled out to the front panel or internal devices).

There is also one USB 2.0 shared with the Mini PCIe slot (if Mini PCIe does not use USB signals, the USB is available), so the maximum effective number of USB is 7 or 8 (depending on the configuration).

6.2 Digital I/O

Provide 14 digital I/O channels (7 inputs/7 outputs), in addition to a+5V power supply and GND pin. The voltage level is TTL (5V logic) and can be connected through onboard pin connections. Typical applications include:

Control LED indicator lights, buzzers, and relays.

Read the status of photoelectric sensors and buttons.

Perform a simple handshake signal with the PLC.

Attention: DIO is not isolated, external isolation circuits or optocoupler relay modules need to be added.


Network and Audio

7.1 Dual Gigabit Ethernet

The controller adopts 2 x Realtek RTL8111E (PCIe interface) and provides two 10/100/1000BASE-T ports.

Support Wake on LAN for remote wake-up maintenance.

Dual network ports can be used for network redundancy (fault switching) or data splitting (such as one network port for on-site control and the other network port for communication with management).

7.2 Audio

Audio codec: Realtek ALC887, supports high fidelity audio.

Rear I/O: Line out, Mic in.

Onboard pin arrangement: front line out, Mic in, easy to connect to the front panel of the chassis.


Power supply and mechanical environment specifications

8.1 Power Input

The motherboard provides two DC 12V input modes (cannot be plugged in simultaneously):

Screw type terminal block (2-pin): suitable for direct connection of DC power supply in industrial sites, more secure.

Standard ATX 4-pin interface: compatible with common power adapters.

Attention: The system only requires a 12V single power supply (not ATX multiple), resulting in lower power consumption. The typical power consumption of the entire board depends on the CPU and load, but the Atom D2550 platform as a whole is around 15-25W, which is suitable for fanless cooling design (IMB-T10 provides a version with heat sink, IMB-T10B with fan).

8.2 Environmental Parameters

Working temperature: 0 ° C~60 ° C (with appropriate heat dissipation).

Storage temperature: -20 ° C~80 ° C.

Relative humidity: 10%~90% (without condensation).

Certification: CE, FCC Class A (Industrial Electromagnetic Compatibility).


Compatibility between operating system and software

Officially supported operating systems:

Windows 7 32-bit (with complete drivers, suitable for legacy software).

Fedora 19 (Linux kernel 3. x, suitable for open source development).

For other Linux distributions or Windows 10, it can be achieved by installing universal drivers or updating the kernel, but compatibility with graphics and network card drivers needs to be verified. Due to Atom D2550 being an early platform, it is recommended to use distributions with Long Term Support (LTS) kernel 4. x or higher.


Selection and Accessories Guide

10.1 Motherboard Model

IMB-T10: with heat sink (fanless, suitable for enclosed chassis).

IMB-T10B: with heat sink and fan (suitable for situations with good ventilation or high CPU load).

10.2 Recommended Accessories

SATA data/power cable: Connect to a 2.5-inch hard drive or optical drive.

2-port PS/2 cable (with baffle): connects an old-fashioned keyboard and mouse.

2-port USB 2.0 cable (with bezel): Extended rear USB.

4-port COM cable: Connect the onboard pins to the DB9 interface.

Selection decision suggestion:

If the application uses multi serial communication as the core (such as gateway, protocol converter), IMB-T10 is an ideal choice.

If multiple screens and multiple serial ports are required at the same time, it may be considered to compare with other Mini ITX boards from Linghua (such as those based on the Core i series), but T10 has a significant power advantage.

For low-power fanless requirements, it is recommended to choose IMB-T10 (fanless) and ensure good ventilation of the chassis; If the ambient temperature exceeds 50 ° C, IMB-T10B or an external fan can be used.
