Chapter 9 Application Precautions

9.1 Service life and load selection

There are significant differences in the service life of contacts based on the breaking current and usage category:

AC-21A (non inductive or slightly inductive load): longest service life

AC-23A (motor load): medium service life

AC-4 (inching, reverse braking): extreme load, shortest service life

To ensure a reasonable service life under AC-4 application, the static current of the motor should not exceed the rated operating current of the switch under AC-21A.

9.2 Installation environment requirements

Ambient temperature

Open installation: -25 ° C to+50 ° C

Closed installation: -25 ° C to+40 ° C (P5X: -25 ° C to+40 ° C)

Climate protection: Complies with IEC 60068-2-78 (Constant Damp Heat) and IEC 60068-2-30 (Alternating Damp Heat)
