Honeywell SS4 Series Multi-Spectrum ™ Electro-Optical Digital Fire & Flame Detector (UV/IR & UV)
Product Overview
The Fire Sentry SS4 series is an optoelectronic digital fire and flame detector that utilizes leading UV and UV/IR technologies, including models such as SS4-A, SS4-AS, and SS4-AUV. It has successfully operated in numerous installation sites worldwide, effectively detecting various types of fires and minimizing false alarms.
Characteristics of each model
SS4-A
Representing the world's outstanding UV/IR photoelectric flame detector technology, it adopts a multispectral design that can sense the radiation energy of ultraviolet (UV), visible light, and wideband infrared (IR) spectra, and can detect all types of open flames.
To eliminate common false alarms that may occur with single UV, single IR, dual IR, or dual-mode UV/IR detectors, its FireLogic signal processing requires simultaneous evaluation of UV, visible light, and wideband IR radiation energy before alarm, optimizing fire alarms through real-time signal processing algorithms to almost eliminate false alarms.
SS4-AS
We optimized the detection of hydrogen, ethanol, methanol, and methane (natural gas) fires by processing UV, IR, and visible light (VIS) spectral ranges using reinforced day blind UV, quantum effect IR, and VIS sensors, which can respond to type A, B, and C open flames.
SS4-AUV
Representing leading UV optical flame detector technology, it only senses the radiation energy of the ultraviolet (UV) spectrum and is suitable for indoor applications without UV sources such as welding.
Application scenarios
Including petrochemical facilities and refineries, power plants, aircraft hangars, silane and hydrogen storage facilities, gas turbines and power plants, gas compressor stations, warehouses, semiconductor industry, etc.
Operation and Technical Specifications
Operation mode
Powered by a standard 24V DC power supply, it can be connected to approved fire alarm panels or standard PLCs. After power on, a self check will be performed, and the fault relay will reset to display no faults. The front LED will flash every ten seconds to indicate that the power is on.
The microprocessor analyzes the continuous spectral data stream from the sensor array, activates the alarm relay upon alarm, and stores all pre fire spectral data in non-volatile memory, FirePic ™ The data can be used to speculate on the cause of the fire.
As FS2000 ™ As part of the system, the SS4 series detectors use a four wire bidirectional RS-485 FireBus ™ Communicate with CM1-A controller.
