The Vibro-meter VM600 MPC4 is a multi-channel machinery protection card available in two versions: 200-510-111-034 and 200-510-070-113. These modules serve as the core measurement units within the VM600 mechanical protection system, providing continuous monitoring of vibration, displacement, and speed parameters on critical rotating equipment such as turbines, compressors, and generators.
Model 200-510-111-034 represents a standard revision of the MPC4 card with established field-proven performance. Model 200-510-070-113 incorporates updated component selections and refined firmware for enhanced reliability in extended temperature ranges. Both versions maintain identical functional capabilities and physical dimensions, ensuring compatibility with all VM600 racks and I/O modules.
The MPC4 provides four independent dynamic signal input channels for vibration measurement, plus two dedicated speed input channels for rotational speed and phase reference signals. Each dynamic channel can be configured to accept inputs from IEPE accelerometers, velocity sensors, or eddy current proximity probes. The module supports simultaneous measurement of multiple parameters per channel, including overall amplitude, displacement, and velocity values.
Dynamic Channels: 4 independent inputs
Speed Channels: 2 tachometer inputs
Input Types: IEPE accelerometers, velocity sensors, proximity probes
Measurement Parameters: Vibration amplitude, displacement, velocity, phase, speed
Alarm Levels: 3 programmable alarm levels per channel (Alert, Danger, OK)
Frequency Range: Configurable from 0.1 Hz to 10 kHz
Filter Options: Programmable broadband and narrowband filters
Analog Outputs: Multiple configurable outputs via IOC4T interface

The module incorporates advanced digital signal processing capabilities including integration and differentiation for converting acceleration to velocity and displacement measurements. Programmable filters allow optimization of measurement bandwidths for specific machinery types and operating conditions. The MPC4 supports simultaneous amplitude and phase monitoring, providing comprehensive diagnostic data for rotor dynamics and balancing analysis.
Both versions integrate seamlessly with VM600 racks via the backplane bus, communicating with IOC4T I/O modules for alarm relay outputs and analog signal retransmission. Configuration is performed through VM600 MPS software, allowing engineers to set measurement parameters, alarm thresholds, and filter characteristics. Front panel BNC connectors provide access to buffered raw sensor signals for external analysis. Continuous self-diagnostics monitor sensor integrity and internal module health.
