Siemens 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 SIMODRIVE 611 Infeed Module

The Siemens 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 is a regulated infeed/regenerative feedback module for the SIMODRIVE 611 drive system. It acts as the central power supply unit, converting the three-phase mains power into a stable DC voltage (DC link). This DC voltage feeds the connected axis drive modules, which then supply the servo motors. The module is essential for multi-axis systems, as it supplies the energy required for acceleration and returns excess energy from braking processes back to the mains network.

Electrical Ratings and Power Handling

The 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 is designed for a three-phase input voltage range of 400 to 480 V AC ±10%, mains frequency of 50/60 Hz. The standard unit is rated for 10 kW of continuous power, with a peak rating of 25 kW for dynamic acceleration processes. The DC link voltage is approx. 1.35 times the line voltage. Thanks to its internal closed-loop control and mains filter unit, clean mains conditions are maintained, and compliance with current harmonics standards (IEC 61000-3-2) is ensured.


Integrated Mains Contactor and Cooling

For a compact design and simplified wiring, the infeed module already contains the main contactor, which is used to safely connect and disconnect the drive system from the supply voltage. The contactor is actuated via a break contact integrated into the module's control terminal block. The unit utilizes an unregulated cooling concept, employing both an internal fan (for the power section) and the principle of natural convection to dissipate waste heat.

Protective Functions and Interfaces

The 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 includes monitoring functions to protect the system against harmful operating states. This includes monitoring for overvoltage and undervoltage in the DC link, as well as monitoring for excessive temperature within the module. The interfaces consist of a user-friendly terminal strip for all control connections, a hole pattern for busbar connection to the axis modules, and three fastening screws for DC-link connections.

Mechanical Design and Dimensions

The module is housed in a sturdy sheet steel enclosure designed for installation in a control cabinet (IP20 protection). The dimensions are consistent with the standardized dimension concept of the SIMODRIVE 611 series. A 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 module can be installed both with forced cooling via a motor fan and without a fan, depending on the respective cabinet climate. The physical depth is optimized for mounting in standard distribution cabinets.

Applications with SIMODRIVE 611

The 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 is intended for use in drive systems with moderate to high dynamic requirements. Common applications include numerically controlled machine tools, handling machines, printing machines, and paper converting machines. The infeed module ensures that the DC link remains a stable and robust energy source at all times, which is a necessary prerequisite for high contouring accuracy and fast positioning of the CNC axes.
