The B&R X20DC2395 is a high-density digital output module for the X20 I/O system. It provides 32 sink outputs (NPN) with a rated voltage of 24 V DC and a maximum load current of 0.5 A per channel. The module is only 12.5 mm wide, allowing a dense packing of I/O points in control cabinets. Each output is protected against short-circuit and overload, with auto-recovery (thermal cycling). The X20DC2395 includes LED indicators for each channel and a diagnostic interface for software monitoring. It is hot-swappable and communicates via the X2X Link bus. This module is ideal for controlling solenoid valves, relays, indicator lights, and other low-power DC loads.
Number of outputs: 32 (sink type, NPN). Output voltage: 24 V DC nominal (18-30 V). Output current per channel: 0.5 A continuous. Total output current per module: 8 A (derated at higher temperatures). Output delay: 150 µs (off→on), 300 µs (on→off). Switching frequency: ≤ 500 Hz (resistive). Protection: short-circuit, overload (auto-restart after fault clear). Isolation: 500 V between field and bus. Power consumption from X20 bus: 0.18 W typical. Internal I/O supply: 1.1 W (plus load). Dimensions: 12.5 mm (W) × 90 mm (H) × 70 mm (D). Weight: 0.1 kg. Operating temperature: -25°C to +60°C (horizontal). Storage: -40°C to +85°C. Humidity: 5-95% non-condensing. Protection rating: IP20. Certifications: CE, UL, ATEX Zone 2.
32 digital sink outputs (0.5 A each)
Compact 12.5 mm width for high-density installation
Short-circuit and overload protection with auto-recovery
LED status indicators per channel
Channel-level diagnostics (overload, short circuit) via software
Hot-swappable in X20 system
Removable terminal block (X20TB12 series)
The X20DC2395 is configured in B&R Automation Studio. The module’s outputs are mapped as a 32-bit binary array. Each channel can be independently monitored for fault conditions. The module automatically reports overload or short-circuit events. The output channel LEDs flash when a fault is present. The module supports high-speed output applications (up to 500 Hz).
Typical uses include controlling pneumatic solenoid valves in packaging machines, actuating indicator lights, driving small relays, and controlling DC clutch/brake systems. The high channel density is beneficial for large I/O counts in limited space.
Mount the module on a 35 mm DIN rail. Connect a bus module (X20BM11) and terminal block (X20TB12). The terminal block has 48 pins; connect the load between each output pin and the common 0V (GND). Use an external 24V DC supply for the load. The module’s internal I/O supply is separate. Shielded cable is recommended for inductive loads. The module is hot-swappable: it can be replaced without powering down the X2X Link.
LEDs: green (module status), yellow per channel (output active). Blinking yellow indicates a fault on that channel. If a fault persists, check the load for short circuit. The module has no user-serviceable fuses; it will self-recover when the fault is removed. No routine calibration needed.
The B&R X20DC2395 provides a dense, reliable digital output solution for the X20 system. Its 32 channels, short-circuit protection, and compact width make it ideal for high-density automation applications requiring many low-power DC outputs.
