The Basler Electric DECS‑250‑CN1SN1N is a digital excitation control system designed for synchronous generators in utility, industrial, and marine applications. It provides precise voltage regulation, reactive power control, and comprehensive protection for generators of all sizes. The DECS‑250 features a high‑performance microprocessor that enables advanced control algorithms, flexible communication, and user‑friendly configuration. Its robust design ensures reliable operation in harsh electrical environments, making it a premier choice for modern power generation systems.

Control and Regulation

The DECS‑250 employs a PID control with adaptive gain for optimal transient and steady‑state performance. Voltage setpoint is adjustable over a wide range, and the unit supports both droop and isochronous operation for parallel applications. The system includes a built‑in power system stabilizer (PSS) to damp low‑frequency oscillations. It also offers reactive power (Q) and power factor (PF) control modes, allowing flexible system integration. A soft‑start function provides smooth voltage build‑up during generator start‑up.

Excitation Output

Output voltage: 0‑300 VDC, with continuous current capacity up to 25 A (peak higher). The output is protected against short circuits and overcurrent.
