The Basler Electric SR8A2B06B3A is a static voltage regulator designed for brushless or DC excited synchronous generators with outputs up to several megavolt‑amperes. It continuously senses the generator terminal voltage and adjusts the excitation current to maintain the setpoint within ±0.5% under steady‑state conditions. The regulator is widely used in prime power, standby, and parallel‑operation systems, offering fast transient response and excellent stability.

Control and Adjustment

The SR8A2B06B3A employs a proportional‑integral (PI) control loop with adjustable gain and stability settings to match the generator and exciter time constants. It includes a droop control for parallel operation with other generators, allowing load sharing by adjusting the voltage setpoint inversely with reactive current. An under‑frequency roll‑off reduces excitation during low‑speed conditions to protect the generator from over‑excitation.
