Product Overview

The OMRON CJ1W-AD081-V1 is a high density analog input unit designed for CJ series Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This module converts analog signals from field instruments such as pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, and level transducers into digital values that the CPU can process. Supporting both voltage and current inputs, the CJ1W-AD081-V1 eliminates the need for external signal conditioners, isolators, and scaling hardware by integrating these functions directly on the module.

With 8 independent input channels, the module offers significant I/O density in a single slot, reducing overall chassis requirements and simplifying system architecture. Applications

Typical applications include water and wastewater treatment plants monitoring flow, level, and pressure; chemical processing facilities reading temperature transmitters and pH probes; and HVAC systems measuring duct static pressure, supply air temperature, and chilled water flow.

In manufacturing, the module captures analog feedback from servo amplifiers, variable frequency drives, and hydraulic pressure sensors for closed loop process control. Its built in scaling and math functions make it suitable for tank level monitoring, where square root extraction provides accurate flow calculation from differential pressure transmitters.
