FANUC A61L-0001-0072 Industrial LCD Display Monitor

The A61L-0001-0072 is a monochrome or grayscale LCD display module manufactured by FANUC for use as an operator interface on CNC controls such as Series 0i, 16i, 18i, 21i, and 30i. It is also referenced as the display portion of the A02B-0076-C121 operator panel assembly. The monitor operates from a 24 VDC supply and connects to the CNC via a dedicated video cable (typically 20-pin ribbon). It provides a 9-inch diagonal viewing area with CCFL backlight (replaceable). This module is used for displaying program code, machine status, diagnostics, and tool paths.

Compatibility

This LCD monitor directly replaces older CRT units (A61L-0001-0070, A61L-0001-0094). It is compatible with FANUC CNC main boards that output analog RGB (e.g., A20B-8100-0xxx series). The A61L-0001-0072 is often sold together with the A02B-0076-C121 which includes the LCD, front membrane keypad, and bezel as a complete operator panel assembly. For newer CNC systems (31i-B, 0i-F), a compatible adapter cable may be required.

Installation and Maintenance

Replacement of the CCFL backlight requires disassembling the LCD stack; a backlight replacement kit (A61L-0001-0072-LAMP) is available. The display should be mounted in a location free from direct sunlight and excessive vibration (≤ 0.5G). The video interface is a 26-pin connector (Hirose DF9B-31S-1V). External brightness can be controlled via the CNC's PMC ladder through an optional dimming cable.

Applications

Used on FANUC controlled machining centers, lathes, and grinders as the primary HMI display. The monochrome screen is still preferred in some high-ambient-light environments because of its readability. For color replacement, consider A61L-0001-0093 (10.4-inch color). The A61L-0001-0072 meets CE and FCC Class A emissions standards.
