Product Overview

This product is a member of Enterasys' (now part of Extreme Networks) A4 series of switches and is highly reliable and scalable. It provides 24 10/100 Ethernet ports and 4 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports with fibre-optic connectivity support, making it suitable for building efficient and reliable large-scale network environments.

Product Features

High-speed performance: With a switching capacity of up to 17.6 Gbps, the switch is capable of handling large amounts of network traffic to ensure efficient network operation.

Large-capacity ports: Provides 24 10/100 Ethernet ports and 4 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports to meet the connectivity needs of different devices while supporting high-speed uplink connections.

Multi-layer Packet Classification and Priority Queuing: Supports multi-layer packet classification and priority queuing functions, which can be prioritised according to different network traffic to ensure high-priority transmission of critical services.

Stackability: With stacking capability, multiple switches can be stacked to expand network capacity and port count, facilitating the construction and management of large networks. Stacking requires the use of standard Category 5 or better UTP cables for connection, and redundancy can be achieved through closed-loop or daisy-chain configurations.

Advanced security features: A range of security features such as port security, authentication and access control lists (ACLs) are provided to protect the network from unauthorised access and attacks.

Management Options: Supports both in-band and out-of-band management. In-band management can be performed using Telnet, Enterasys Networks' NetSight management application, or WebView; out-of-band management is provided through the DB9 console port connector, which supports VT100 terminals or VT100 terminal emulators. In addition, more complete switch configuration and management tasks can be performed using CLI commands.
