The Multilin 369 is a comprehensive motor protection relay designed for medium and large induction motors. The 369-HI-R-0-0-0-0-E variant includes high-impedance ground fault protection, RS485 Modbus communication, and a 1 A current input configuration. It features a thermal model that accurately represents motor heating and cooling, enabling precise overload protection without nuisance tripping. The relay is suitable for both new installations and retrofit applications.
Protection Functions: Thermal overload (49), locked rotor (48/51LR), short-circuit (50/51), earth fault (50N/51N), high-impedance ground fault (87N), undercurrent (37), phase unbalance (46), and start-up supervision.
Thermal Modeling: RTD-based or current-based thermal model with adjustable cooling time constants.
RTD Inputs: 6 RTD inputs (Pt100) for stator bearing and winding temperature monitoring.
Metering: Phase currents, thermal capacity used, RTD temperatures, motor run hours, number of starts.
Inputs/Outputs: 6 digital inputs, 6 output relays (form C), 4 analog outputs (4-20 mA).
Communication: RS485 Modbus RTU (standard), optional Profibus or Ethernet.
Display: LCD with backlight, showing real-time values and alarm messages.
Current Inputs: 1 A CT secondary (1 A, 5 A optional).
Voltage Inputs: 4 voltage inputs for metering and power calculations.
Accuracy: ±2% for protection, ±1% for metering.
Power Supply: 88-300 V DC / 70-265 V AC,<15 W.
Operating Temperature: -40°C to +60°C.
Dimensions: 177 x 266 x 210 mm (4U height).
Protection Class: IP52 (front), IP20 (rear).

The 369 relay continuously monitors motor currents and RTD inputs. It calculates thermal capacity using an adaptive model that considers positive and negative sequence currents. The relay includes a programmable logic engine for custom control schemes, such as automatic restart sequencing. It records up to 60 events with time stamps and stores fault data for post-fault analysis. The relay also features a built-in circuit breaker control and interlocking logic.
Motor protection in oil and gas, mining, and power generation.
Pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors.
Critical motors in petrochemical plants.
Water and wastewater treatment facilities.
The relay is programmed using the front keypad or GE’s EnerVista software. EnerVista provides setting wizards, real-time monitoring, and fault analysis tools. The relay supports multiple setting groups for different operating conditions. Communication drivers are available for integration with DCS and SCADA systems.
CE, UL, CSA, and IEC 60255 compliant.
Designed for use in industrial environments per IEC 61000-6-2/4.
Marine type approvals available.
