Turck JBBS-49-E413/3 PROFIBUS DP Junction Box

The Turck JBBS-49-E413/3 is a rugged PROFIBUS DP fieldbus junction box designed for decentralized automation architectures. Electrical and Mechanical Design

The JBBS-49-E413/3 is constructed with a powder-coated die-cast aluminum housing, providing exceptional durability in harsh industrial environments. An integrated pressure compensation element prevents internal condensation that could compromise electrical connections. The housing includes an isolated support terminal for optional protective conductor connection, and housing potential can be connected via an M5 x 1 bolt. Cable shielding can be configured for capacitive or direct connection to housing potential through a selector switch.

Termination and Configuration

An integrated terminating resistor can be activated via a switch to properly terminate the PROFIBUS network when the junction box is at the end of a segment. This eliminates the need for external terminators and simplifies network configuration. The resistor can be disabled when the box is used as an intermediate node in the bus topology. This design flexibility allows the same junction box to be used in various positions within the network architecture.
