METASYS NU-NCM350-8 Network Control Module

The Johnson Controls Metasys NU-NCM350-8 is a network control module (NCM) designed for the Metasys building automation system. It serves as the system's core communication gateway, responsible for coordinating and supervising all device control activities on the local bus, supporting comprehensive building automation management including HVAC, fire protection, security, and lighting. The module acts as a communication router between the upper-level workstation and field controllers such as DDC controllers.

Building Automation Integration

The NU-NCM350-8 provides seamless integration of building automation systems through its dual-network architecture. It manages N1 network communication (ARCNET or Ethernet) and N2 bus device management, supporting various field devices including VAV controllers, AHU controllers, and IFC interfaces. The module includes 2 ISA expansion slots for additional communication cards such as LONWORKS or MIB-OWS, offering flexibility for diverse building automation requirements.

Reliability and Safety Features

The NCM features UL 864 UUKL smoke control certification, ensuring compliance with strict safety criteria for smoke control applications. The built-in flash memory allows quick firmware updates and improves system dependability. An internal nickel-metal hydride battery provides RAM program and data retention for up to 72 hours during power interruptions, with a typical battery life of approximately 5 years. The module is designed for standard equipment rack installation with dimensions of approximately 32×15×14 cm.
