The F350-C10E is a standalone image processing unit from OMRON's F350 series, designed for high-speed inspection, measurement, and code reading applications. It integrates a processor, camera interface, I/O, and communication ports in a single compact housing. The unit supports up to two cameras (CCD or CMOS) with resolution up to 640×480 pixels, and executes inspection algorithms including pattern matching, edge detection, dimension measurement, and OCR (optical character recognition). It communicates directly with a PLC via Ethernet/IP, Profinet, or serial links, making it a complete vision solution for automation lines.
Processor: 32-bit RISC, 200 MHz with dedicated image processing hardware
Camera Interface: 2 channels, analog composite (NTSC/PAL) or digital (LVDS)
Resolution: Up to 640×480 pixels (VGA), monochrome or color
Image Memory: 8 MB (up to 100 images stored)
Inspection Tools: Pattern search, edge/position detection, area measurement, character recognition, barcode/2D code reading
Processing Speed: 10 inspections per second (typical for 640×480 image)
The unit provides 8 digital inputs (24 VDC) for trigger, start, and job selection; 8 digital outputs (transistor, 24 VDC, 0.5A) for pass/fail, alignment, and alarm; and 2 analog outputs (0-10V) for measurement values. Communication ports include Ethernet (TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP), RS-232C, and RS-422. The unit supports remote monitoring and configuration via built-in web server. It also has a USB port for firmware updates and data logging.
Dimensions: 150 mm × 90 mm × 60 mm (W × H × D). Weight: 0.6 kg. Power supply: 24 VDC (19.2–28.8 V), 0.8 A typical. Operating temperature: 0–50°C; storage: -20–70°C; humidity: 30–85% non-condensing. Protection class: IP20. The unit is panel-mount with DIN rail optional.
Programming is performed using OMRON's F350 Configurator software (Windows-based), which allows drag-and-drop creation of inspection flows, parameter tuning, and real-time image display. Up to 32 inspection programs (jobs) can be stored and switched via digital inputs or PLC commands. The unit also includes a simulation mode for offline development.
Commonly used in packaging inspection (label presence, date code verification), assembly verification (part orientation, missing components), and gauging (dimension measurement). The F350-C10E is a cost-effective alternative to PC-based vision systems, offering reliability and simplicity for factory floor integration.
