The 01-W3839F-07A is part of Motorola's PCE I series of VMEbus processor modules, built for embedded computing applications requiring deterministic performance. This single-board computer (SBC) utilizes a PowerPC architecture, providing a balance of processing power and low power consumption. It is designed to operate as a system controller in VMEbus chassis or as a standalone embedded processor in industrial environments.
Processor: PowerPC 740 or 750 (G3) running at 300-400 MHz, with 256 KB L2 cache.
Memory: 128 MB SDRAM (expandable to 512 MB), 32 MB Flash for boot firmware and application storage.
VMEbus Interface: VME64 compliant, system controller capability, A32/A24 addressing, D32/D16/D08 data transfers.
I/O Interfaces: 2x Ethernet (10/100 Base-T), 2x RS232 serial ports, 1x parallel port, 2x USB 1.1.
PMC Expansion: Single PMC slot (PCI Mezzanine Card) for adding custom I/O or communication modules.
Real-Time Clock: Battery-backed with calendar.
Watchdog Timer: Programmable hardware watchdog for system recovery.

Humidity: 5% to 95% non-condensing.
Form Factor: 6U VMEbus, single-slot (4HP width).
Dimensions: 233 x 160 mm (6U x 160mm depth).
Compliance: VME64 specification ANSI/VITA 1-1994.

The 01-W3839F-07A integrates a PCI-to-VME bridge for high-speed data transfer between the processor and VMEbus. Boot firmware (U-Boot) supports loading of operating systems from Flash, network, or IDE storage. The module includes DMA engines for efficient data movement. It also features a programmable interrupt controller for handling VMEbus interrupts. Diagnostic LEDs on the front panel indicate power, status, and user-defined conditions.
