The Pioneer Magnetics PM3326B-6-1-2-E (order number 80026-529-01) is a compact, high-efficiency DC-DC converter designed to step down a nominal 24V DC input to a regulated 12V DC output at 6A (72W). It is ideal for powering 12V loads from a 24V battery or industrial DC bus in automation, telecom, and transportation systems.
Input Voltage Range: 18-36 V DC (nominal 24 V)
Output Voltage: 12 V DC ±2%
Output Current: 6 A continuous (72 W)
Efficiency: >90% at full load
Ripple & Noise:<30 mV peak-to-peak
Line Regulation: ±0.2%
Load Regulation: ±0.5%
Protections: Input reverse polarity, output overcurrent, short circuit, overtemperature
Operating Temperature: -20°C to +85°C (derating above 70°C)
Storage Temperature: -40°C to +105°C
Dimensions: 100 × 70 × 25 mm
Mounting: Chassis mount with screw terminals
Certifications: CE, RoHS

The converter uses synchronous rectification to achieve >90% efficiency, reducing heat generation and allowing operation in sealed enclosures. The aluminum baseplate provides effective heat sinking; no fan is required for most applications. The module is fully encapsulated for protection against moisture and dust.
Input reverse polarity protection prevents damage from miswiring. Output overcurrent protection is set to 7A with hiccup mode; short-circuit protection shuts down the output and automatically retries every 5 seconds. Thermal shutdown occurs at 95°C case temperature with auto-recovery at 85°C.
This converter is widely used to power 12V sensors, actuators, and communication equipment from a 24V industrial power rail. It is common in factory automation, heavy machinery, and marine electronics.
